Northampton is located 474kms North of Perth, 52Kms north of
Geraldton on the North West Coastal Highway of Western Australia in the
Midwest Region. Northampton has wildflowers in abundance and one of the
richest histories in Western Australia. The rolling hills of Northampton,
drained by creeks with permanent pools attracted game and proved a haven for
Australian Aborigines. Evidence of their ancient culture can be seen in cave
paintings at the Bowes River turnoff.
The Parish has Ministry Centres at Ajana, Binnu, Horrocks Beach, Yuna,
Murchison Settlement, Nabawa, Nanson, Northampton, & Yallabatharra.
The Nabawa Centre Church is St Bartholomew's' (built 1959).The church is
built of brick.
The Nanson Centre Church is St Luke's (built 1952). The church is built
of locally quarried stone.
The Northampton Centre Church is Holy Trinity (built 1908) and is located
in Hampton Road. The church is build of rough granite with Federation Gothic
Revival style.
