Outback Church FoundationBackground On Sunday July 26 1986 we planted large crosses on fine sites in seven of the largest towns of the North West - as a sign of our commitment to building churches on each of those sites. And so was launched the Outback Church Foundation, aiming to raise $1,000,000 over three years to build the churches, as well as two urgently needed rectories. The $1,000,000 target was reached, together with the construction of six churches, three rectories and various other parish projects. The OCF church buildings have been designed with great economy and skill by Perth architect Iris Rossen. They are multi-purpose buildings, serving not only as a worship centre but for a variety of group and community activities. In 1992, Synod extended the original mandate of the OCF to enable the foundation to become the permanent home mission fund of the Diocese of North West Australia. The objectives are to enlarge to promote new initiatives within the diocese and make provision for future needs. The Chairman of OCF is Mr Mike Maude, C/O P.O. Box 230, Carnarvon, W.A., 6701 Future Projects Broome parish has a pressing need for a hall and facilities alongside the historic Church of the Ascension.
